Biography: Mark bought this yellow retro SSR pickup truck brand new from Auburn Chevrolet. This purchase was a trip back in time for Mark. The first vehicle he ever purchased was a yellow Chev Luv pickup truck, bought from the same dealership over 30 years ago. Mark took his father along to relive the memory and revisit his youth. 2004 was the first year of the SSR. GM only produced 24,150 of these hot rods over three years. Although this truck is not an antique, it fits perfectly into the museum as a limited production vehicle and one of many trucks that are fun to look at and drive! Frequently, you could spot Mark driving the bright yellow hot rod on the freeway with the top down, heading to his hanger in Auburn where he would leave the truck behind in exchange for a trip to the San Juan Islands in his Cessna 185 float plane.
